About this place
Some diners have praised the hot sandwiches. The menu offers 3 options: ham and cheese, tuna and cheese, and ogura, a sweet red-bean filling. Choose one of the savoury sandwiches for a more substantial bite, or go for ogura when you fancy something sweet. Each is listed at 310 yen, making one an easy pairing with coffee.
Blended coffee costs 350 yen, while the coffee of the day is 370 yen. One diner particularly enjoyed the iced coffee, and another described its flavour as robust. The daily option is presented as a rotating single-origin coffee, offering a chance to compare it with the house blend. The menu also includes a latte with plenty of milk and a cappuccino; one customer appreciated that the latte’s coffee flavour came through, with milk kept in a more restrained proportion.
The Kohaze Set pairs either blended or iced coffee with a hot sandwich of your choice, and is available throughout the day. It’s a convenient way to settle on both a drink and a light meal. For something sweet, there’s the cake of the day, or Kohaze ice cream, which comes as “White” with vanilla ice cream and a cookie, or “Black” as an affogato. Check the blackboard for the cake selection.
Cohaze Coffee in Shimokitazawa serves customers in the café and offers takeaway, with terrace seating as well. Dogs are allowed, so on a fine day you can enjoy your coffee outside. Bear in mind that payment is cash only and reservations are not accepted.
